Phoenix Girl

Phoenix Girl

They set her heart on fire

Smoke curled from her parted lips

Her lungs were charred embers

And they glowed on the darkest night

Her tears glittered in the moonlight

Keep your distance

For if you hold her in your arms

The rumours say she may shatter

But so many do not care to see

Behind her smile the tsunami rushed

In her laugh an earthquake tremored

But in my arms she did shatter

So I picked up the pieces

And I put her back together
