A sudden flow of energy flows through me
I twitch where I stand, itching to move
Screw consistency, I’ll be who I wanna be
I’ll write a thousand haikus, just cos I can
Bright colours pop in my mind
Silent fireworks banging in my mind
I scream, I laugh, so loud
Dance when everyone’s watching, who cares anyway?
Smile at everybody who walks by
Play heavy metal music at top volume, who’s gonna complain?
There’s no one else around, and I’m not complaining
Panting coz I just ran a mile
I’m not tired though, there’s a mountain to climb
Dance around my living room
Kiss that guy you like, why not?
They asked if I’m drunk
I haven’t touched a drop
I’m high on life, my friend!
I’ll party all night and no one can make me stop
Let’s walk the plank together
I know pride comes before a fall,
But I have no pride, just this joy in my mind, so unfamiliar
Nothing can stop me and my mania
It could be gone tomorrow
But if I don’t sleep maybe I’ll outrun the sorrow…
~ Bluebell Rizzi
I’ve wanted to write about mania for a long time, but inspiration just eluded me. Tonight, though, it came, and with it this poem.
I hope you enjoy 🙂 ❤
