Impermanent Peace

When the sun comes out

It brings life into me; just

like you did before

~ Bluebell Rizzi

After a long, lonely day, she falls into the arms of her bed.

Bitter words uttered by cold voices haunt her, taunting her in the darkness.

So she closes her eyes; drifts away, to a safer place…

A place where gentle fingertips graze her skin, soft lips brush hers, strong arms hold her tight, and words of love are tenderly uttered by kind voices in her ears.

When she opens her eyes once again, the sunlight kissing her cheeks is the only remnant of the love she received in her dreams.

So she rises, going out into a world where one kind word is as rare as finding a five hundred dollar note in the gutter of an Irish pub.
