The Coma Of Desperate Hope

The Coma Of Desperate Hope

Control slides through my fingers

Falling to the floor

Exploding into a million pieces

Memories slam into me

His laugh; his eyes; her smile; his hair; his words; his arm around me

All the people I have loved before

Their words echo in my mind

The loss pulls me to my knees

And the shards of my control laugh in my face

I beg to rest my soul

Anything but this

Then a gentle voice whispers in my ear

I turn to see my future

She tells me of unimaginable happiness

And I get lost in her eyes

So I close my own

And dream of better things

Who needs the present, after all?
