It’s Not That

It’s Not That

It’s not that I don’t care

When I leave my phone off

It’s not that I don’t care

When I don’t get out of bed

Because I do care

But some days I have nothing left to give

My tongue turns sharp and cruel

Eyes cold and hard

Heart frozen in ice

Those days I can’t fight

The demons that scream inside

At the same time as being kind

Those days my bitterness shines back at me in everyone’s eyes

And I cry

I won’t beg you to stay

You deserve more than me

More than this

I’ll smile and say

  1. With others being kind
    and from the heart
    smiling and singing
it’s the best way to fight
with the love you are bringing.

    Sometimes is more difficult
    I know it aches
    and those demons
    won’t give you a break
even if it gets this difficult
    we’ll need
    to rise up the stakes
    seeking help from others
    is the new strategy
    you may need to take.
