The Perfect Pear

For Erin ❤

The Perfect Pear

There once was a pear

Living on a tree

But she was a sad pear

Because she was the only one

And the partridge was very mean

But then one day

A bird came to sing in the tree

His feathers the brightest colours

Our pear had ever seen

He noticed her when he finished his song

“My pear, are you all alone?”

“Yes” she replied, blushing

“What is your name?”

“Why, it’s Pearsephone”

They got talking

Spoke well into the night

And from that day on

He returned each morning

At sunrise, the golden hour

To sing for her

They watched the stars together

And as the days went by

They fell in love

Were wed by a crow in a white collar

And never spent a day apart

For the rest of their lives.
