Fading Away

Fading Away

How long must I wait?
There’s only so much I can take…
Every day my heart hurts more
A pain I can’t ignore
Everything reminds me;
Everything that I see
I’m alone
And loneliness is a bed made of stone
How long must I wait?
I can feel my heart start to break…
There’s a day I dream of each night
When someone comes into sight
With a smile that could melt butter
Offering a helping hand to pull me from this gutter
And they would hold me close
Like a fragile rose
Tell me what I need to hear
Let me whisper in their ear
But how long must I wait?
Because they’re very late…
