Head in my hands

Tangled in my hair

The tears just won’t come

Feeling empty, hollowed out

Misery running through me

Heavy heart in my chest

Crushing my lungs

Fighting for breath

Who am I?

Sinking to my knees

Black dog on my back

Snarling in my ears

Teeth bared

Ready to battle my happiness

In a fight to the death

I sit motionless

Unblinking, unseeing

A tornado swirling round my head

Tearing up everything I’ve made

Progress disintegrating

Bridges burning

Horns sprouting from my hair

I’m hopeless

There’s nothing left

Who am I?

Sinking down

Laid to rest on the bedrock

Oxygen leaving me

And the lava from my volcano of fear

Will make sure I’m set in stone

Not to be found

Until the year 3000

Until then.
