You’re Gone
Why did you hide from me
Why wouldn’t you let me love you
Kept pushing me away
We saw you,
We were there for you
But you just shut us out
When your sleeves rode up,
We saw your pain
It was written in the way you hugged yourself so tightly
As if there was no one else that wanted to hold you
You needed help but wouldn’t take it
I’d have given you my heart
But you were too afraid of breaking it
The answer was so simple,
If you’d only opened your door
Instead you kept it bolted shut
You kicked the bucket away
When they cut the rope,
You took the pills
After they emptied your stomach,
You bit the bullet.
All the things you missed
Such a waste of a life
That could have been worth living,
If you’d met my eyes just once
But it wasn’t enough, this world
And maybe the choice shouldn’t have been left to you
Either way, I’m sorry
I miss you…

This is…so human, and so sad. What happened?

I actually didn’t write this one entirely from person experience – I had a lot of friends in that state of mind a few years ago though, so I drew from that.
I mainly wrote this for me, because when I get close to doing something stupid my biggest defence is imagining how it would be for other people. Putting that in writing helped me a lot 🙂
But more than just for me, I wrote it for all the people who’ve lost someone ❤

We write to heal, protect ourselves and find a path. I really keep coming back to the candle metaphor: we are making a light for oursleves, as well as a possibility of light for others.
Keep it up 😉

Pens down the best description of writing I’ve ever heard 🙂
And I absolutely love that metaphor 😊<3
