Angel Of Stone

Sorry guys, I know this isn’t my best! However, I haven’t been able to concentrate all day, so this is the best I could do 🙂

I think I’ll rewrite it as a flash fiction piece at some point, so keep your eyes out for that, it will be better! 😀

Angel Of Stone

In the dark streets of the sleeping city

A girl and her fox were running

They emitted a glow that lit up the night

When they reached the town square,

She gazed up at the handsome statue

Smiling, she knelt down

Without fear, she sang

Her green eyes filled with conviction

And her dark red hair glowed

Bathed in the light of her love,

The statue came to life

He took her hand with a smile

Until dawn they danced

Her silver dress flying out

The fox watched in silence

His tail swishing in time to the silent music

When the sky turned pink,

The statue and the girl kissed

He climbed to his perch,

And drew his mighty sword

The girl sang once more

When he was turned to stone,

The fox leapt into her arms

She smiled, and looked up into the sky

Then she faded into the air,

Leaving only a small red feather,

Never to return.
