Will We Talk?

Hi guys! Happy September! 🙂

I was listening to this song a little while ago and it inspired me to write this 😀

If you get the chance, give it a listen! And I dare you to not tap your feet 😉

Picture this.

A weathered glitterball hangs in the middle of the room, spinning lazily and casting sparks of hope into the dimly lit night club.
A couple are talking by the bar.

She runs a finger round the rim of her glass.
“If you dance with me, darling. If you take me home…”
Her words kindle a fire in his eyes.
“Will we talk in the morning?”
He takes her face in his hands. She smiles, her fingers encircling his wrists.
“Yes.” He whispers.
She puts her arms around his neck, then leans in and closes her eyes.

They left soon after.

In idle moments I often wonder what became of them. I never saw them at the club after that, or anywhere else.

It was such a cinematic moment, and for some reason it’s never left my mind.
The part of me that yearns for real life happy ever afters burns to know what happened.

I guess it’s just another one of those things I’ll never know.
